Well maybe not quite! But this Irish Times article looks at some future developments in nanotechnology. For instance how adding a different nanoparticle to existing body armour can make these plastics 10 times tougher than before, without being thicker or heavier than the original. No commentary on how such developments might be applied to telecare or assistive living products though.
